It breaks my heart when someone sends me their music and says "I know it sucks but."ĭon't do that! Believe in it! Who cares if it sucks you created something out of nothing, this is your art try to love it. Reach out to people in a genuine way, offer your music as pay what you want, and most importantly try not to forget why you do it, make yourself satisfied as an artist first, love and support what you do and try not to be self defeating! Tunecore offers a really affordable service to get your music on streaming sites and it's not a lot of money but it adds up, and better you own it than some label or manager that may or may not be giving you everything you're owed. I'd say another big thing is to make your music available to as many people in the easiest way possible. Social media stuff is really the only way to reach a real audience these days. I'd say the best thing to do is reach out to artists you like and respect and show them your stuff, they may be into it.

Mastering is a good idea too but don't spend too much, or better yet you can get a hold of some software and watch some youtube videos and learn how to yourself, at least for your own work when you're starting out.
